A. Spendiarian Opera and Ballet National Academic Theatre

In 1926, in order to meet the demands of the city, a decision was made to build a big theater hall in Yerevan. The building was designed by architect Alexander Tamanyan. The building is later renamed A. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.
The first opera that was staged was A. Spendiaryan's opera "Diamond" in 1933.
In 1939, everyone's favorite A. Tigranyan's opera Anush.
The artists of the opera theater have created their own unique stage style and tragic principles. This enduring art is passed down from generation to generation and everyone can enjoy their favorite performances.
